Summary – “Stand on the very soil where it all happened”
Welcome to the Gdansk Shipyards, a place that became internationally known when, back in 1980s, Lech Walesa co-founded the famous Solidarity movement (Solidarność).
The unique tour takes you through the Gdansk shipyards to the very place where the movement that ended communism in started. The struggle at the Gdansk shipyards was seen as ground zero for a struggle for freedom that sparked similar uprisings across Poland.
You’ll also visit the newly opened European Solidarity Center where you’ll see various exhibits, videos and wonderful interactive maps connected to the “Solidarność” movement not only in Gdansk but throughout Poland.
The tour is so much more than just a walk down communism lane and it ultimate collapse.
The Tour includes:
1. The Solidarity Square and The Monument of the Fallen Shipyard Workers,
2. The Historical Shipyard Gate “Gate Number Two”
3. A visit to the European Solidarity Center
