“With Bydgoszcz and Torun we have two cities that prove size doesn’t mater”
About Bydgoszcz and Torun
With just 45 km separating the Pomeranian cities of Bydgoszcz and Torun, it made sense to put these two joint capitals of this region together. Bydgoszcz has a glorious history dating back to the Middle-Ages and is well known if its cathedrals, museums, parks and picturesque canals surrounding the city with the Old Town market square in the centre.
Torun is recognised worldwide for Nicolaus Copernicus whose works in astronomy are world renowned. On a national level, it is the gingerbread capital of Poland. In 1997 parts of the city were designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This small city with a population of 200k attracts just shy of 2 million visitors a year. Staggering volume when we consider 40k are students studying at the Nicolaus Copernicus University.
Why we recommend Bydgoszcz and Torun.
While both these cities have enough beauty and architectural wonders to keep you busy, this isn’t the reason we added these two cities to the Jamboree listing. Both has an untapped abundance of clubs, clubs and cool restaurants. They offer the same extreme activities you can find in other Jamboree city, and enough cultural Polish treats to keep even the fussiest traveller happy. If you’re heading to Poland and want something different, a Bydgoszcz or Torun visit could be just what you’re looking for.
