Summary – “Are you interested in how industry has changed and shaped Poland?”
This unique tour takes you on a journey up close and personal tour with the many underexposed faces of the Polish industry and industrial landscapes of Masovia.
The tour starts with a trip to an incredible museum in Otrębusy to see a collection of vintage cars. The fleet includes some classical cars used by Joseph Stalin and Marylin Monroe. From Otrębusy, the tour moves to nearby Żyrardów and the impressive 19th century linen factory. Amazingly this factory is still in operation, producing fabrics of which are exported all the world. A good place for some souvenir hunting. One for the employees will assume the role of guide for a short time to show you around the halls of the factory.
After some shopping in the local stores, you’ll visit the city of Łódź – the third largest city in Poland. In the early19th century, the city was a major centre of textile production. In Łódź a local guide will show you the key places in Łódź that are tied to its past as an industrial powerhouse, places like the old worker boroughs, the palatial residences of the textile magnets and the beautiful Art Nouveau tenement houses.
