About Warsaw
Where is Warsaw? Warsaw is in Poland, it is the capital city with a population of 1.7 million people and is Poland’s leading city for business and commerce. One could say that in Poland, all roads lead to Warsaw.
As a stand-alone city Warsaw finds itself fighting against a mutiny on many fronts. After all, Poland had had something like 9 or 10 different city hold the title of capital, and some on more than one occasion, and so the battle begins. In Business, Warsaw battles with Poznan as the county main business hub. The fact that Poznan houses Poland’s main trade centre is testament to the city business acumen.
For tourism, Warsaw battles with Krakow, the former Capital on four occasions. In truth is this maybe a battle that Warsaw has already lost. For nightlife, it’s the small seaside resort of Sopot that has crowds dancing till early morning and in terms of history, there is a long list of cities with Gdansk leading the charge. Let’s not forget Wroclaw and her claims to be Poland’s most beautiful city. It is easy to see why Warsaw feels it is up against it.
Why we recommend Warsaw
Yes, Warsaw is facing competition in many areas of tourism, and Yes, Warsaw has been described as a large village… but here at Jamboree we like Warsaw. Warsaw is the capital, the biggest and carries the most international pull. From a Jamboree prospective, it has enough tours and trips to more than rival any of our other Polish destinations and so many bars and quality restaurants, you’ll be spoilt for choice, coupled this with the bucket loads of with extreme and leisure activities.
Basically… If it can be done in Poland, it can be done in Warsaw.
